LexisNexis and Westlaw all have special summer access provisions and usage policies. Register now to ensure that these research databases are there when you need them.
Summer access is both for returning students as well as graduating 3Ls whose IDs will expire July 31, 2013.
Student access to LexisNexis over the summer is available May 1 to August 31 only through Lexis Advance, based on an academic subscription plan maintained by New York Law School. From May 1 to August 31 students may use their Lexis Advance password for any purpose at school or at work. On September 1, 2013 usage reverts to academic use only (this includes use at work for school credit or if the work fulfills a graduation requirement).
There is no longer a summer access registration requirement; students simply need to have a registered Lexis Advance ID. Students who have registered for Lexis Advance need not do anything further for continued access.
Register online for Lexis Advance by going to:
At the bottom left side of the page, click on the blue “Register for Lexis Advance” button and follow the on screen instructions.
Lexis.com Summer Access Exceptions: Students who need special content not available on Lexis Advance and available on Lexis.com will be considered for full Lexis.com summer access on a case-by-case basis.
